Voice Mail Feature Definitions:

After Answer Delay

Set the number of seconds the AP should pause between when the call is answered and when the first prompt is played. This allows time to ensure the voice path is connected to the calling party when the prompt is played.

Announce Caller

Enable or disable the announcement of the party who left a message on a per-subscriber basis.

Associated Numbers

Multiple phone numbers may share a Voice Mailbox.

Auto Login

Subscribers have immediate access to their Voice Mailbox without being asked to enter a User ID or Password.

Busy Greeting

If the call was forwarded to voice mail because the line is busy, this feature announces “The party you have reached is on the phone” before playing the subscriber’s custom greeting.

Daily Notification

Allows subscribers to designate a time of the day to be notified of new voice messages.

Date, Time, and Weather

Plays greeting to include any combination of date, time, and temp (requires optional Weather Station Interface service).

Distribution Lists

Subscribers can send messages to a list of mailboxes.

Edit Message

Allows the calling party to listen to their message, re-record their message, append to the end of their message or to cancel leaving the message. Callers will hear, “When you are finished recording, press # for further options or simply hang up”.

e-forward

Converts the Voice Message into E-mail. You can listen to or forward your messages, save, or delete them from your voice mailbox.

Envelope First

Envelope data refers to the date and time of a recorded message and the DN of the calling party. On a service wide basis, this feature allows your Telco to configure Voicemail to play the envelope data before the message.

Flexible Number Delivery

Configure the Caller ID number that displays for notification calls (daily notification, pager/phone notification).

Full Mailbox Warning

Notifies the subscriber when their mailbox is full and warns that new messages will not be recorded until messages have been deleted from the mailbox.

Greeting Only Sub-mailboxes

Configure sub-mailboxes as “Greeting Only”. These mailboxes will play a custom greeting but will not record messages.

Hotel Interface

Allows hotel staff to manage a list of voice mailboxes. Hotel staff can clear messages when guests checkout and record the greeting to be used by all voice mailboxes on the list.

Internet Control

Allows subscribers to access voice mail service, to retrieve messages, save or delete messages, and make changes to service from a website.

Message Forwarding

Forward messages to other Voice Mail subscribers.

Message Reply

Subscribers can dial ‘5’ to return a call to the caller’s number.

Message Waiting Indicators

Activates the stutter dial tone or the message light on the phone when there are new messages in the mailbox.

Multiple Greetings

Allows subscribers to record multiple greetings and select which greeting is active. Subscribers can record a default greeting for regular use and an ‘out of office’ greeting to use on a temporary basis.

Multiple Outgoing Trunk Groups

The Telco can configure Voice Mail to use specific trunk groups for outbound calls based upon the subscriber’s NPA-NXX.

MWI Delay

Allows your Telco to configure a delay (in seconds) between when the service receives a disconnect and when the service attempts to update the status of the subscriber’s Message Waiting Indicator (MWI).

Out Dial

Callers may press ‘0’ to transfer to another phone (cell phone).

Pager / Phone Notification

A page or telephone call alerts subscribers when a new message is in the mailbox.

Retrieve Only Mailbox

Configure mailboxes to only allow message retrieval; mailbox settings may not be changed. This applies to mailboxes used in hotel/motel settings or other settings where it is not desirable to allow subscribers to record custom greetings, change notification settings or change other options.

Sequential Notification

Allows subscribers to configure their service to attempt to notify a series of phone numbers when they receive new messages. When the pager type to notify is set to Sequential, the service attempts to notify each number on the list sequentially.

Changes the function of auto login so that subscribers will hear their first new message without being required to press a key on the keypad. Sub Mailboxes- Systems allows up to 9 sub-mailboxes for each telephone line subscribed to the service. PIN access for each mailbox ensures privacy and greetings can be customized for each mailbox.

Undelete Messages

When subscribers delete a message using the phone interface, it will not be deleted immediately. Instead it is ‘marked’ for deletion when the subscriber ends the session. Subscribers may still listen to messages marked for deletion and save the message if desired. Saving a message marked for deletion will unmark the message and it will not be deleted at the end of the session. Messages marked for deletion will be deleted at the end of the session and may not be recovered.
